THESE HOES AIN'T LOYAL

Some rules are unspoken for a reason and some betrayals echo longer than the act itself.

MY REFLECTION

Writing These Hoes Ain’t Loyal gave me the chance to explore a truth many people fear: sometimes the ones closest to you are capable of the deepest betrayal. Jasmine’s story isn’t just about a broken engagement, it’s about trust, boundaries, and realizing that loyalty isn’t guaranteed, even in friendships you’ve built for years.

I enjoyed creating Breona. Her role automatically casted her as the villain but she isn’t a villain in the traditional sense. She’s a person wrestling with feelings she shouldn’t have acted on. That tension between heart and moral compass is something many of us experience, whether in friendships or love.

Through Jasmine's eyes, we see the heartbreak that comes from misplaced trust, but also the resilience that emerges when someone decides to value themselves over betrayal. Marcus’s presence adds another layer, showing how love and accountability intersect in complex ways.

The story is a reminder that loyalty is not automatic, it’s something earned, maintained, and sometimes painfully learned when the people you love make the wrong choices.

JUST CURIOUS...

  1. Jasmine is blindsided by Breona’s betrayal. How would you react if your best friend sabotaged your engagement?

  2. Breona crosses the “girl code” line. Do you think she’s truly in love with Marcus, or is this about envy and control?

  3. What drives someone to betray their closest friend for love — desire, insecurity, or something else?

  4. How would you handle a partner being pursued by your best friend?
