Closure Isn't Always a Conversation

Raw Chapter No. 007

I feel like we’ve made closure sound like something that happens.

One last conversation.

One last explanation.

One fair apology.

One moment where all of the sudden everything makes sense.

It just doesn’t work like that sometimes.

Sometimes people leave and don’t explain why.

Sometimes they lie.

Sometimes they make you feel like it’s your fault.

Sometimes they vanish.

And sometimes…the closure you deserve never comes.

For years I thought closure was something another person could offer you.

Now I realize it’s something you have to choose for yourself.

You stop obsessing over old texts.

You stop mentally rehearsing conversations that will never happen.

You stop waiting for that person to grow up to be the person you needed them to be.

Not because it doesn’t hurt anymore...

But because you’ve decided you can’t let your healing be contingent on someone else’s ability to grow up.

And cliQue...that's closure.

Not the conversation.

The decision.

Now I want to hear from you.

Do you believe closure comes from the other person—or from yourself?

Until our next cup... ☕🤎
