Waiting for Closure

Raw Chapter No. 001

"Some conversations don't end when people walk away. They end when we decide they no longer deserve space in our minds."

I've learned the toughest lessons don't always come with a sense of closure. We often trick ourselves into believing if we could just talk to them one more time...hear them explain...hear them say they're sorry THEN we can move forward.

But life isn't fair, and doesn't always allow us that little grace.

Some people leave.

Some people lie.

Some people lack the capacity to realize the pain they put you through.

And I'm being completely honest, for the longest time I thought closure was something we had to be granted by someone else.

Now I think differently.

I believe closure is not about finally getting the answers you've been seeking...it's about realizing you no longer need them.

That doesn't mean everything that happened is suddenly ok.

It doesn't mean you magically forgive that person overnight.

It simply means you no longer let another persons lack of words dictate your peace. Some chapters in your life will close without a proper resolution. Some stories will go unpurged; never getting that apology you've entitled them too in your mind...and maybe that's perfectly fine.

Because sometimes the most powerful ending isn't hearing "I'm sorry."

Sometimes it's hearing yourself say...

"I'm ready to move forward anyway."

☕ Now I want to hear from you.

Do you think closure is something another person gives you...or something you eventually give yourself?

Until our next cup... ☕🤎
