The Password Debate
Raw Chapter No. 002
"Trust isn't built with passwords. It's built with consistency."
Every couple has a different philosophy when it comes to phones.
Some know every password.
Some believe certain areas should remain off limits.
Neither are inherently right or wrong.
But what intrigues me isn't the phone, it's what the request exposes. Sometimes when people say, "If you have nothing to hide, give me your phone," they mean... "Help me feel safe."
Other times when someone says, "I have a right to privacy," they aren't trying to hide something at all. They are fighting to protect the part of themselves that existed before you.
I've realized that giving someone access does not equal trust. Trust equals access. And those are two very different things. I don't think the level of trust in a healthy relationship is dependent on who knows the password.
I think it's measured by if either person feels the need to look at all...
☕ Now I want to hear from you.
Should couples share phone passwords?
Why or why not?
Until our next cup... ☕🤎
