We Don't Always Miss the Person
Raw Chapter No. 006
Sometimes…
We miss our normal.
You know, the morning texts, the person to call when you just want to talk.
That familiar face, Friday night plans, the person who knew your order without you having to speak.
And because none of those things tend to last, we end up fooling ourselves into believing we miss them.
Sure we do.
But what if we’re really grieving the life we built surrounding them? There’s a difference.
Loneliness loves to edit our past.
It filters out the let downs.
Erases all the fights.
Covers up the betrayals.
Before you know it you’re left only remembering the good they brought you. That’s why when a breakup happens it can be so confusing to deal with. You’re not just losing that significant other you spent weeks/months/years building. You’re losing routines. Comfortability. A sense of self. Expectations.
And everything else you dreamed about that can no longer involve them.
Recovery starts when we stop questioning whether or not we miss them.
And start digging deeper to find...
“What exactly am I missing?”
☕ Now I want to hear from you.
Have you ever realized you missed the routine more than the relationship?
Until our next cup... ☕🤎
